In looking back over my life I can now see that I have been on a search for health answers since I was a teenager and have always been very intrigued as to why some people get sick and others stay healthy. This led me on this decades long journey into the profession I now have at Nutrition World.  I have witnessed so many health fads throughout the years where differing theories on disease emerged as a way to explain our  continuing decline in America’s health and many times these theories fade out as the years go on however sometimes we do learn new valid information that can literally save our life.  .  .  

 

There is now an emerging threat to our health that most of us deny or don’t even know exist and that is of “Electro Magnetic Fields” (EMF).  EMF’s are produced by cell towers, radio and TV towers, cell phones etc.  Please don’t think I am over reacting  and dismiss this article and I do ask that you at least read what I am saying.  I believe that research is showing beyond a shadow of doubt that being exposed to large amounts of EMF’s for many years without breaks could possibly be extremely detrimental to our health.  I know of many customers who have shared stories of moving into a new home and their families health seemed to deteriorate for no reason and the opposite stories of those who were chronically ill yet when they relocated they miraculously recovered and nothing changed but the location.      Some experts compare today’s public and government attitude toward  EMF dangers similar to how cigarettes were viewed in the 1950’s when research revealed it to be unhealthy yet it was denied for years until the truth finally could no longer remain hidden.  

I remember what I thought when I first started reading about EMF dangers;  I immediately dismissed it because I put it in the mental category of, “it does not matter because there is nothing I can do about it and I am not giving up my cell phone”.  Despite my opinion, I continued to read new research about how EMF may contribute to a disharmony of our system especially since the body operates on so many levels using electrical signaling.  If you don’t believe your body is electric than ask your doctor next time he wants to do a EKG, EEG, and many other tests that look at the function of how your electric system works.  

I have just finished a DVD training called Fundamental Teachings by Dietrich Klinghardt MD who has vast experience in the field of health and the effects of EMF.  I was so impressed with his knowledge and it finally convinced me of two things, 1.  EMF risks are real: 2. There are reasonable steps to take to protect ourselves.

 

Dr Klinghardt makes the case that we don’t have to run from EMF’s but the key is to have 7 to 8 hours daily in what he calls a “sleep sanctuary” where we are not exposed to excessive levels of EMF’s and this would normally be at night when we sleep.  This would allow us to fall back into the natural bio rhythm that nature intended for us and it compares to restarting your computer when it is running slow due to excessive interference with a virus or bogged down with programs.    If you would like to see online interview with Dr Klinghardt and others on the EMF concerns, log onto electromagnetichealth.org/audio-archives-and-more/.

The first step I recommend is to look at how many cell towers are within 4 miles of your home and to do this log onto http://www.antennasearch.com/  and put in your address and this will show all cell towers and antennas that would be producing EMF’s.  Secondly if you desire to set up a “sleep sanctuary”,  you can do what I did which is purchase a material made of silver and bamboo that can truly block 99% of all cell tower EMF’s and I use it as a lightweight blanket at night.  This is certainly easy but is somewhat expensive and the average costs would be approximately $150.00.  There is another kind of EMF that the blanket will not block and this is from your house’s electrical wiring.  This can have an effect if it is surrounding your bedroom and the only way to stop this is to do the following:  Turn off the breaker switch on your fusebox that controls your bedroom.  I know it may be a hassle but at least it is free. Thirdly I recommend installing a timer if you have a wireless router in your house so it will go off at night.   The last and final reasonable step involves the cell phone which emits high amounts of EMF directly into our brain and on this point here are my recommendations.  Use the speaker phone setting as much as you can and lay the phone somewhere that is not on your body and purchase a head piece that is not electrical that will allow you to not have your brain exposed to the EMF as you are talking on it.  In years past we could have found our own “energy sanctuary” in nature but with the ever expanding cell phone towers, this will  be only a memory.
